Moto3, Australia Phillip Island

One of the favourite “flyaways”, Phillip Island is a track that gets the thumbs up from riders and spectators alike.
Many surprises at this track, seemingly at the end of the world, as it is right on a coastal cliff face, this time it was the weather. So much rain and wind, the conditions were to threaten the racing.

Moto3 managed their quail and first-time poleman was @24MarcoRamirez, with championship contender @AronCanet44 next to him and then @AlbertArenas.

Ramirez took the lead with Arenas and @fennyfive (Romano Fenati). A tight group, there were no front or back runners just a mass of Moto3 bikes with everyone in contention, well not quite, Darren Binder again managed to punt someone off, this time it was @RiccardoRossi54, who dropped out with Binder still running.
Only two laps in, the main drama unfolded with Canet carrying too much speed into a corner and slipping off the track, with no restart it was the end to his World Championship hopes. It was @lorenzodallaporta48’s to lose, the championship that is, he started to run a measured but feisty race.

17 laps to go and Dalla Porta was under pressure from @JohnMcP17 and @Tony_Arbolino, a 12 pack of wolves snapping behind him Dalla Porta kept coming back to the front, probably realising that was the “safest” place to be.

On the last lap, @_celin13_ slid under @JaumeMasia5 forcing them both out. No doubt Macauley will be looking forward to racing on the Championship winning Leopard in 2020.
So it was Lorenzo Dalla Porta the race winner on his now World Championship winning Leopard Team Honda. 2nd was teammate @24MarcoRamirez and 3rd Albert Arenas
