About us

“Bike Community”, is a phrase that we often see, and it is just that, but why?

Perhaps it is the sense of being. Like all of those who ride a motorcycle know, it is being “engaged” that makes the experience special. The old wind whistling around your stuff, the sense of being a part of the environment you are riding in, and not viewing it from the TV screen window of a car.

Whether you are young and just starting out on your 50 or 125, or longer in the tooth than you wish to be, and rolling around on your V Twin, it is the same experience and connection. This shared experience is the root of the “community” thing.

The care lavished on our motorcycles, be it a rare classic or a speedy Sportster, the attention to detail sets us apart from other road users (perhaps only classic car enthusiasts share the ideal). The cleaning and buffing come partly from a sense of pride, but also the necessity to keep that machine in good working order, and seeing is believing (and trusting) with a motorcycle.

We at Bike Directory are just like you, enthusiasts. Some of us have just started riding but not that young, so wondering why we did not do this before. Others of us have been riding a while, starting off on RD250 Yamahas and KH 250 Kawasakis and onwards and upwards.

So we welcome you to this Bike Directory community, please share with us all that enthusiasm and knowledge. We will put all the information together and make this an interesting place to be. It is early days yet, but we are growing and learning, as we connect the dots…
