If you happened to be at Silverstone for the @motogp in 2018 you will know how much seeing the track bathed in the sun was a welcome sight.
Quali gave us a strong front row of the grid, with @MarcMarquez93 on pole, the ever popular @Valeyellow46 next to him and @jackmilleraus in third with @fabioquartararo20 in forth.
Sweltering at Copse, camera focused on the apex, the first corner of the first lap at Silverstone is always hectic. What was about to unfold was hard on the emotions. Panning Marquez who had a blistering start with Rossi and @AlexRins in close pursuit, out of the corner of my eye, a fireball! The red of @andreadovizioso Ducati soon turning black as flames engulfed his bike, and Dovi lying on the apron, and a stunned Fabio Quartararo sitting up. I have participated and spectated at motor sport events for fifty years, but those years can never prepare you for such an event. It reminds that this is a dangerous sport, with consequences.
The pace was as hot as the weather with Marc and Alex pulling ahead of Rossi, much to the delight of the Rossi stand at Copse. With 14 laps to go @maverick12official joined in and overtook Rossi, this group of four now setting the scene for an exciting GP. Lap after lap Alex was staying with Marc.
Three laps to go and it seemed like Marc had the slightest advantage, however nobody had told Alex.
Last lap and Rins was a tad too far for a lunge, and knowing Vinales was close to pick up the pieces. With three corners to go Rins found that something, and sliced under Marquez to the line, with a 0.013 second advantage for the win.
