The Moto3 Qualifying was no surprise considering the pace of these front runners in recent outings. On pole @tony_arbolino, with @lorenzodallaporta48 next to him and completing the line up in third, @raulfernandez_25
Typical of Moto3, the start was an explosion of these little bikes off the line, with Dalla Porta, Arbolino and @johnmcp17 setting the pace, but with a train of bikes buzzing behind them. McPhee was seemingly able to put his bike anywhere he wanted through the corners, pushing in between Dalla Porta and Arbolino on numerous occasions.
With the race settling in with the front runners, with 15 laps to go, @albertarenas dropped his bike in front of @aroncanet44. An astounding show of spatial awareness, saw Canet, whose bike had landed on top of Arenas’s, clutch in and engine running, he pulled his bike off and set off down the road. Arenas was not so lucky.
At 13 laps to go @24marcosramirez was 8th, watch this space, and @jaumemasia5 7th having made up a lot of places, smooth as usual. 7 laps and the running order was Dalla Porta, Arbolino, McPhee and @aiogura79, 11 riders in a tight pack. 6 to go and Masia overran and had an excursion across the apron ending up 11th.
On the last lap, it was Dalla Porta, Arbolino and Marcos Ramirez. Ramirez showed some inspired riding ability and took the lead, displacing his Leopard teammate Dalla Porta, who had led so much of the race. Arbolino tucked it under a dazzled Dalla Porta and so across the line it was.
