Quail left us with @alexmarquez73 on pole with @tetsutanagashima and @BradBinder_41 next to him

Brad Binder had a flying start and placed himself in the only place he could to try and save the World Championship, first. However, he was followed closely by the World Champion elect, Marquez, if he accrued the points necessary in this race. Tetsuta Nagashima held third place and was part of the mix, these three pulling a gap from the rest of the field.

Fifteen laps to go and Binder went wide allowing Marquez to slip in to first. Alex Marquez was riding between a rock and a hard place, having to maintain a safety net for the World Championship points but not letting any of the second group to move forward and eat up his points. He did this well.

Ten laps to go and Nagashima stepped out, allowing @TomLuthi12 to move into a solid third.

Eight laps to go and Brad Binder was holding station with Marquez second and Luthi third. It stayed that way to the chequered flag and brought Alex Marquez across the line as @Moto2 World Champion!
Not the most interesting race by a long way, but understandably these three title contenders had to play it safe and did so to the end.

Alex Marquez in the post race interview dedicated the race to Afridza Munandar, the 20 year old Asia Talent Cup rider, who passed away after an accident in the Saturday race. This was a gracious act for Alex who had all the elation of just winning the World Championship
