Summer. Really? The last round at Donington Park threw out some crazy weather, so as Bennetts British Superbikes moved to Cadwell Park for round six, we are sure most riders were hoping for more favourable conditions. However, it’s Cadwell Park, and although a nice location, it’s not exactly the Costa del Sol, but it’s a track most riders like, challenging, technical and exciting all at the same time.

Cadwell park qualifying for the Bennetts Bike Social race one was Glenn Irwin on pole, Jason O’Halloran P2 and Peter Hickman P3. Irwin dislocated his shoulder and had it re-set at Donington and then raced, and he was back on form with a pole at Cadwell, a clear example of determination.

Race One: Glenn Irwin shot away from the start, with Jason O’Halloran and Peter Hickman in close order. It stayed that way until lap 8 of 14 when Peter Hickman took the lead with Irwin P2 and O’Halloran P3. Lap 9 and Tarran Mackenzie clipped the grass and lost control of his Yamaha, the bike cartwheeling into the barriers, ending up looking wrecked. Tarran was up and ok but understandably looking a bit dazed. (After the race, it was reported he had a broken finger).

After some typical Cadwell exciting racing, it was Peter Hickman, FHO Racing BMW for the win. Jason O’Halloran McAMS Yamaha P2 and Tommy Bridewell, Oxford Racing Products Racing Ducati P3. A first win for the newly formed FHO Racing BMW team, so well done to them. The young’uns Rory Skinner FS-Racing Kawasaki and Storm Stacey, Team LKQ Euro Car Parts Kawasaki placed 9th and 11th respectively, a great race for them.

Race two: saw Tarran Mackenzie having to stand down with the broken finger from race one, not a good situation for him regarding the championship, but plenty of races to go yet.

Race two grid was Peter Hickman on pole, Jason O’Halloran P2 and Christian Iddon P3.

Off the line, it was Jason O’Halloran first, Peter Hickman P2 and Christian Iddon P3. There was some jostling of positions during the race, but, soon Peter Hickman took control and held station through the race.

On the final lap, it was Peter Hickman FHO Racing BMW for the win. Jason O’Halloran McAMS Yamaha P2 and Tommy Bridewell, Oxford Racing Products P3. Storm Stacey, Team LKQ Euro Parts Kawasaki was 10th, Rory Skinner FS-3 Kawasaki had an unfortunate DNF.

Tarran Mackenzie did some commentary for Eurosport and did a good job, we would rather see him racing though, as we are sure he would.

Race Three: The grid for race three was Tommy Bridewell on pole, Jason O’Halloran P2 and Lee Jackson P3.

It was a close fought race, mainly between Peter Hickman and Jason O’Halloran, but in the end, it was Jason O’Halloran, McAMS Yamaha who brought it home first, Peter Hickman FHO Racing BMW P2 and Tommy Bridewell, Oxford Products Racing Ducati P3. Rory Skinner was P12, after having an unfortunate coming together with Storm Stacey on lap 14, which took Storm out of the race.

Peter Hickman was crowned Milwaukee King of the Mountain, and took the Bennetts Rider of the Round while he was at it.
