Qualifying:

Quali looked familiar with Remy Gardner on pole and his Red Bull KTM Ajo teammate Raul Fernandez P2, except for P3 which fell to Bo Bendsneyder, good to see the Dutch rider showing form after a shaky start to his season, with arm pump surgery.

The Race:

Remy Gardner had a blistering start from the line and hit the front with teammate and closest championship contender Raul Fernandez second and Bo Bendsneyder third. On the opening lap, Bo managed to slip under Raul but it was short-lived, Raul asserting his position and back to P2.

Not much was happening in the race until 11 laps to go and Raul Fernandez took Remy Gardner for the lead, leaving Bo Bendsneyder in a steady P3. If this was a race win attempt from Raul it was an early move, maybe he thought he could gap Remy, so he gave it a go.

Six laps to go and it was status quo for the Raul and Remy show, with the only significant change being Xavi Vierge finally taking Bo Bendsneyder for P3, Bo’s tyres seemingly going off after trying to stay with the Red Bull boys.

Three laps to go and with Raul Fernandez on track limits warnings, Remy came in hot and pulled under Raul to take the lead, with Xavi trailing at this stage. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Hector Garzo had a coming together and both ended up in the kitty litter, race over. Remy managed to gap Raul and took it over the line, a class race from the young Australian, destined for MotoGP with a Tech 3 contract for 2022. Another solid race from the rookie Raul Fernandez, who is keeping up with his more experienced teammate Gardner.

The Result:

P1 Remy Gardner Red Bull KTM Ajo, P2 Raul Fernandez Red Bull KTM Ajo, P3 Xavi Vierge, Petronas Sprinta Racing.・・・
